Advocate. Educator. Protector. Doula.
Venette T. Maurice, CBS
Student Midwife
Birth & Postpartum Doula
I’m a birth and postpartum doula, breastfeeding specialist, childbirth educator, learning student midwife, and public health professional. I am passionate about reproductive justice and community-centered care. I support families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and all the emotional and physical transitions that can come with this journey.
I believe everyone deserves clear information, affirming support, and care that honors their autonomy. My role is never to tell someone what decisions to make, but to help them feel informed, confident, and supported in whatever choices feel right for them. I value collaboration, consent, curiosity, softness, and creating space for people to show up exactly as they are. Even in uncertainty, you deserve support that feels empowering.
I especially value supporting Black and brown families, queer families, first-time parents, neurodivergent clients, and those navigating high-risk, complex, or emotionally tender reproductive experiences. I strive to provide grounding care that is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and centered around dignity, connection, and trust.
Kind Words from Previous Clients
“She is attentive, informed, supportive, responsive, and very very kind. We knew from our initial consultation with Venette that she was the right doula for us. It's so clear that Venette has a passion for birth work and for empowering birthing people to make the best decisions for themselves. This also means she is an excellent listener and communicator...”

“She was there when I needed her, both remotely and in-person, to provide timely encouragement, new pain control ideas, and wise advice and reminders. The hospital staff remarked to me multiple times how impressed they were by Venette and they really respected her input as part of my team. Venette respected my wishes and helped me communicate them to the rest of the staff caring for me too.”

“She was so caring and kind. She educated me on how to prepare for labor and how to have an empowered birth experience at the hospital. Venette checked in constantly when I was starting to show signs of labor, and she worked tirelessly to provide physical support in terms of positional changes, nourishment, and emotional support during a labor lasting more than 20 hrs at the hospital. I highly recommend Venette as a doula!”
